I only offer solo private lessons at this time.
This depends on the age of the child, water confidence, and skill level. I'd recommend at least two sessions a week in order to keep skills fresh and help create muscle memory. Some families like to have a session every day while others like to use the sessions as a skills refresher. As far as packages go, just choose what you feel is right for you and your child.
The main priority of lessons is water competency and safety. I always start with the basics; recovery from an accidental fall, properly using the wall to climb out, and back floating to rest/take proper breaths while swimming. Teaching the swimmer to respect and understand water dangers and how to best help themselves always comes first.
According to American Red Cross swimming guidelines recommend a water temperature of at least 89° for infant-5 y/o, and 83° for ages 6-11. This document can be found under the resources tab of the website under water temperature advisory.
Before your first lesson I offer a free 10 minute consultation. This time is to help me better understand what your goals are as a parent and gauge the current skill level of your child.
The one-on-one support each swimmer gets with their personally tailored program helps build confidence, understanding in their limits, and a sense of autonomy.
In the event of a needed cancellation please notify me at least 24h before the lesson in order to receive a full refund.
